• Free wallpaper, anyone?
Artist and photographer Mutua Matheka is always keen to push the boundaries of his creativity, and that’s exactly what he’s done with his recently launched ‘Wallpaper Monday’ app for Android phones. It’s for those of us who crave cool African wallpaper for use on our computers. So far over 100,000 people have downloaded a wallpaper, and you can see why this app has proved so popular when you visit his website and browse through the incredible selection of pictures.
• The home of fashion
I’d never heard of Nancie Mwai until someone mentioned her blog with gushing compliments, so I visited her website – The Fashion Notebook – which turned out to be a towering proclamation of all things trendy. Although I’m ill-equipped to comment on fashion, it’s impressive how she picks local designers and uses their products to demonstrate how their clothes can be maximised. The fact that some of the accessories featured come from Gikomba Market goes to demonstrate that you don’t have to throw a lot of dough to look good. Looking at this makes me think that there should be a fashion blog that talks to men. Because, let’s face it, we need the help.
• Shopping gone online…

I’m normally quite sceptical about online transactions but the shoes warranted a plunge. Ordering proved easy, and I opted to pay on delivery. And my shoes arrived in the office the next day! Later I received a phone call from a member of staff at the shop asking if I was happy with my purchase. I was. But I was even more impressed with the service.
